Laura Solomon & Associates, a firm dedicated to serving nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations (), is seeking a new Associate.
This position is available as a result of the consistent growth of the firm.
Located on the Main Line, just west of Philadelphia, the firm is recognized as a leader in the charitable sector and works exclusively on matters related to tax exempt organizations, serving as general counsel to hundreds of public charities, private foundations, trade associations, and other nonprofits.
The firm has an extensive list of clients in local, national, and international markets.
The position has the following requirements:
Demonstrated commitment to, and desire to work with, nonprofit organizations
At least 3 years tax and/or corporate experience -
Firm or in house position;
exempt organization experience desired
Licensed to practice law in PA
Excellent communications skills - both orally and in writing
Personal Characteristics - positive; decisive; hardworking; mature; detail-oriented; poised/level headed; articulate; takes responsibility and initiative; energetic; thoughtful; team player
Other factors for consideration include:
Transactional experience - ideally exempt organization/nonprofit, though general corporate would be acceptable
Trusts and Estates - Orphans Court, Federal Transfer Tax (estate, gift, and GST), charitable gift planning
Private Firm (preferably big firm) experience
Licensed to practice law in other states, NJ most preferred
Other relevant professional experience in the nonprofit sector
Also helpful: LLM in Tax, real estate law, nonprofit board experience; speaking experience.
